No Doubt – The James Ellington Story
Feature documentary / Coming Soon
Filmed over six years, No Doubt is the gritty, intimate story of British sprinter James Ellington, whose Olympic dream was shattered in 2017 by a near-fatal motorbike accident. Told he would never walk properly again—let alone run—James defied medical advice and made a bold public declaration from his hospital bed: he was coming back, targeting the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
As one year of recovery stretched into two, three, and then four, James’s belief was tested to its core. Dropped from the GB team and cut off from funding, he was forced to relocate abroad, training without a coach and through relentless pain.
When the COVID-19 pandemic postponed the Olympics, a sliver of hope returned. In 2021, James began competing again—this time as an unaffiliated athlete, alone and under immense pressure. With just weeks to qualify, he had to face a new generation of sprinters and run faster than he ever did before the accident.
What begins as a story of resilience evolves into a brutal exploration of identity, masculinity, and obsession. Refusing to accept the future prescribed for him, James channels everything into the race that could define—or destroy—him. No Doubt is the story of a man who outran fate once—and is willing to risk everything to do it again.
